Samarpan at the 14th Annual London Addiction Workshop: Strengthening Global Connections

Samarpan Recovery recently participated in Lee FitzGerald’s 14th Annual London Addiction Workshop, a major international event that brought together over 200 professionals from 32 countries, including the USA, UK, Malaysia, Thailand, UAE, and Europe. Over the three days, our COO Martin Peters and CCO Obi Unaka actively engaged with attendees, hosted a Samarpan Recovery & De-addiction Services stand, and sponsored a breakfast for participants.

A highlight of the visit was a professional supper hosted by Michael D Ishmail MSc of The Revoke Programme on November 7th. The evening was filled with lively conversation, shared experiences, and laughter, where the team connected with international colleagues including Fiona Y. Malek Yassin, Mahisha Naidu (The Wave Clinic), Brian Ballantyne (Crossroads Centre Antigua), and Natasha Williams (Assured Healthcare). These interactions provided valuable insights into global addiction recovery practices and fostered meaningful professional collaborations.

Throughout the workshop, Samarpan representatives attended numerous talks and presentations. Martin Peters also spoke about Samarpan’s residential and outpatient services, sharing insights into delivering evidence-based addiction treatment in India. The event offered opportunities to strengthen relationships with established rehab centres worldwide, including long-term partners such as Camino Recovery, Steps Together, The Wave Clinic, and Recovery.com.

Participation in the workshop reflects Samarpan’s growing global presence and the increasing number of international clients seeking treatment in India. The visit also paved the way for new collaborations that will support both clinical growth and program development. The team looks forward to welcoming some of these new collaborators to Samarpan centres in Mumbai and Pune in the coming year.

While anticipation builds for next year’s London workshop, focus now shifts back to India, where Samarpan will participate in the Indian Mental Health Summit 2.0 on November 16th and the Bombay Psychiatric Society – CMHARTS & Addiction Medicine Speciality of Indian Psychiatric Society event on November 17th. Martin Peters and Obi Unaka will be guest speakers at both events, continuing to share insights and advance compassionate, evidence-based care in mental health and addiction recovery.
