Studies show that fitness not only reduces the chances of relapse but also improves mood, increases energy, and helps heal the body from physical and cognitive damage from substance abuse. Clients will often build exercise into part of their recovery plan as they start to reconnect with past interests, or new interests.
At Samarpan, physical exercise is an integral part of the program. All clients will participate in scheduled sessions with a personal trainer at least three times a week, along with other group physical activities.
Exercise works towards promoting a general positive feeling, helps reduce the urge to use and is a great way to naturally increase endorphins – the body’s “feel-good” chemicals that act as a pain reliever and mood booster.
The physical therapy sessions are tailored to each individual, considering factors such as age, medical history, past injuries, state of health, stage of treatment as well as personal interest and passion for any particular activity.
Our trained instructors are on hand to guide you through gym sessions including cardio, aerobics & lifting weights, swimming & aquatic exercises, CrossFit and TRX using our world class gymnasium. We also organise other activities such as cricket, football, badminton, basketball and volleyball in groups to continue to foster our community spirit within the program.
Clients are also taken on supervised trekking & mountain biking activities in the beautiful surrounding areas with our sports activities team.
